About Audit Observation Standard (AOS™)
Audit Observation Standard (AOS™) is the foundational Parent Standard of ADIT®— Continuous Audit & Evidence Governance Architecture™.
It governs the conditions under which operational reality becomes structured,
attributable, context-aware, boundary-defined, and valid audit observation
before evidence formation begins.
AOS establishes the first governed space of the ADIT® evidence lifecycle. It
defines what may be observed, how observations are qualified, which contextual
information must accompany every observation, how observations are attributed
to their operational origin, where observation boundaries exist, and how
observation validity is established before evidence is created.
The standard does not govern evidence itself. Instead, it governs the
observation layer that precedes evidence formation, ensuring that only
properly governed observations become eligible to enter the evidence
lifecycle.
By standardizing audit observation, AOS enables trustworthy evidence
formation, continuous auditability, operational reconstruction, independent
verification, accountable governance, and consistent audit outcomes across AI
systems, autonomous systems, organizations, digital assets, software systems,
operational processes, critical infrastructure, and every other governed
operational environment.
Within ADIT®, Audit Observation Standard serves as the methodological entry
point through which operational reality becomes continuously observable and
governable before it becomes evidentiary.
